About the Artist

Megan Morris is best known for her bright, massive murals, but she is also accomplished in oil, acrylic, pencil, and ink. Her interest in art has become very broad. She is mostly self-taught. "Growing up, I would draw the same thing over and over, trying to get it right. I did this with horses, faces and hands."

Megan’s grew up, and now lives in the small central Texas community of Clifton which in itself is a thriving art community, and is the home of several very talented artists. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture that allowed her to explore color, perspective, space, and design. Following college she pursued a career in design and drafting, gradually moving into her career in art. She enjoys improving her skills through art workshops, and has been encouraged to continue to develop her art.

Megan’s art has also become an agent of inspiration for others as well. “The first time I saw a woman cry after being given one of my paintings, it was a turning point,” Megan explains. “I realized the power of art and how it captivates the spirit.”

In addition to her growing collection of canvas paintings, Megan has developed a large portfolio of pencil and ink drawings.  She completed her first mural in summer 2014 as part of an art restoration project in her hometown of Clifton, Texas, and her work can be viewed throughout the Clifton area.

“I love sharing my art with people. It's invigorating to complete a piece and witness someone's reactions to my work. Particularly when it's a piece that's meaningful to me. It's exciting, similar to an adrenaline rush.”
